Centrale & Whitgift join forces with borough’s only NHS charity for 2022-23
Croydon Health Charity has today (Tuesday 15 November 2022) been announced as the latest charity of the year for Centrale & Whitgift, boosting support for NHS staff and patients across the borough.
The partnership, which will see the borough’s only dedicated NHS charity benefiting from a generous bursary, will also allow the organisations work together to engage local people and offer health education events, as well as opportunities to raise much-needed funds throughout the year.
Christina Clynes, Head of Fundraising for Croydon Health Charity said:
“We are delighted to join forces with the team at Centrale & Whitgift to raise awareness of the great work of our charity.
“Each year, we support thousands of NHS staff and patients, funding new medical equipment to improve health outcomes, as well as life-changing research, refurbishments - such as the development of a state of the art playground for a new children’s unit at Croydon University Hospital – and a number of vital staff wellbeing initiatives to support our NHS heroes.
“With the support of Centrale & Whitgift and their shoppers, we can do even more to care for those in our borough who need it most.”
Joanne Bailey, General Manager, Centrale said:
“As a central hub in Croydon we understand the important role we can play in providing support, provisions and services for the local community.
“Our partnership with Croydon Health Charity will go along way in ensuring that NHS staff can continue their essential work with the necessary funding, while patients in Croydon can receive vital care and treatment.”
Matthew Kershaw, Chief Executive at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust and the borough’s Place-Based Leader for Health, said:
“Croydon Health Charity helps us to support one of the capital’s largest and most diverse boroughs to have the best possible experience of NHS care during what can often be some of the most difficult times in their lives.
“As well as looking after people in our hospitals and through our community services, our incredible NHS teams also work hard to keep people well. Through this fantastic partnership with Centrale and Whitgift we can do even more to raise awareness of the life-saving care we provide and offer practical support to local people to empower them to manage their health and wellbeing.”
The charity partnership will be in place from November 2022 until October 2023. You can find out more information about Croydon Health Charity here .
Background
Croydon Health Charity provides practical and emotional support for staff and patients of Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. We raise money and fund projects in one of London’s largest boroughs. We do this by:
- Refurbishing parts of our hospitals and community services
- Funding state-of-the-art equipment
- Supporting life-changing research to pioneer new treatments
- Funding staff health and wellbeing projects
Our funding is always above and beyond statutory provision. Whether it’s a new staff rest area or medical equipment, wellbeing resources, specialist training or recognition badges, our work is varied and far reaching.
